MLM Success Tips For The Newbie Network Marketer

Success tips for the newbie: In a prior post, I shared that I’ve adopted a different perspective on how to best help people who are newbies and/or struggling to find any network marketing success. My tip is this: if you are attempting to recruit a newbie or struggling network marketer into a “top tier” direct sales opportunity, you are doing that person a disservice.

network marketing success tips for the newbieNow I know I will draw a lot of flack from direct sales marketers out there and that’s okay. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. Since this is my blog, here’s mine. :-)

If you are new to the industry or struggling, your priority is to build your skills as a marketer before you take undue financial risk. Top tier opportunities have an extremely high attrition rate and are not, in my opinion, the place to “cut your teeth” in the industry.

I would much rather see you get started with an inexpensive opportunity and then focus your time on mastering your skills as a marketer while you build that business.

It means you take much less financial risk at the outset of your business which frees you from the severe financial strain that comes with the more expensive opportunity.

You may not have the same level of short term earning potential as with a top tier opportunity, but you have every bit or more potential to build a lasting residual income without the extra financial burden of a high up front investment.

That is not to say you should be spending all of your time learning how to market before you start building — not at all. You want to begin learning how to network as well.

That’s why it is called network marketing … it involves networking AND it involves marketing. To be successful you must learn how to do both.

At its core, network marketing is about

building relationships

.

People ultimately will do business with you because they know, like and trust you. So you have to give them the opportunity to get to know you in order to allow them the opportunity to decide they like and trust you.

With the advent of the Internet, so many marketers make the mistake of believing they don’t have to invest any time learning how to network. This is sad because with the Internet and the incredible growth in online social media, there has never been more opportunity to legitimately grow your network exponentially around the world.

But you only accomplish this by taking the time to really engage in conversation with people. This has been the essence of offline marketing for an eternity. Yet, in the online world, it is a lesson most marketers still have to learn.

So how do you begin to learn the art of networking? By networking. And as a newbie, the easiest place to start is by leveraging what you are already doing.

No, you don’t have to pounce on your friends and family, but you do already have a circle of influence and you want to get comfortable talking to people and inviting them to take a look at what you have to offer — assuming you’ve established there’s a reasonable enough fit to go there.

This applies to your brother in law, your friend, or the person you’ve started chatting with at the coffee shop. Where the conversation naturally lends itself to sharing the fact you have an opportunity that may be worth taking a look at, share the invitation. You are not attempting to sell anything at this stage … you are merely extending an invitation for them to take a look.

By engaging in conversations with people, online or offline, you will learn to become a better, more effective networker. And you will be far better positioned to build solid, trust based relationships with the leads prospects you generate through your marketing.

Best of all as a newbie, when you start out with a low investment opportunity, you can begin to build the necessary skills to ensure your network marketing success without blowing your financial brains out in the process.

Are you Being The Captain Of Your Ship?

Being the captain/leader of your life - do you sometimes forget that you are the captain/leader and go back to playing the game of life as the passenger or deckhand?

When it comes to your life, you are the captain, whether you choose to act like one or not. The captain is the captain of the ship, when the weather is good or the weather is bad. In bad weather, he remembers he is the captain and makes the necessary adjustments to get his ship, his crew, and his passengers safely and happily into harbor. He may not enjoy every minute of his journey but he is required to get the job done.

How many of us keep in mind that we are the captain/the leader of our life and keep steering the ship even in rough seas? Or are you one of those who prefers to hand the wheel to someone else and pretend that you are the passenger or even the deckhand?

When we forget who we are, and we forget where we are going, it is very easy to get off course and land where we are not wanting to go.

The captain of the ship does not see his destination until he is almost upon it.Yet, with his vision in mind, he has faith that by doing the right things over and over again, that he will arrive into the desired harbor. Then the drama of small or not so small events doesn't get to him.

You, just like the captain of the ship, need to have a clear vision by which you guide your life. The goal/the intention that you set for yourself is like the light house and you would be served well to remember to take incremental, consistent steps towards that light house.

Remember, the captain does not see the destination for the first 98% of the time - it is only when he is almost upon it that he sees the harbor.

Life is like that, you create the vision for what you desire your life to look like and then you must trust, have blind faith that by taking consistent right action, that you will arrive.

However when we forget where we are going and we do not see the destination right away, we can get pretty discouraged and sometimes we choose to abandon ship. That is not the solution.

Next time we will see how creating a powerful vision can pull you forward when you are not seeing the harbor.

You Win By Losing

It dawned on me the other day that there are multiple ways to look at winning and losing but the the most crippling type of win is the win to lose scenario.

Believe it or not there are people who find righteousness in losing at life. They come up with reasons, stories and excuses that support their position and they feed off of the sympathy and concern for their well being from others.

When your looking from the bottom up it can at times seem very disheartening to find the inner strength to move up the mountain. Has this ever happened to you?

You can tell rather quickly the type of person you are by how you react in these situations. You either put your creative thinking cap on or you put on you victim suit.

When the victim suit goes on everybody knows. You gripe and complain about the situation you have, through choices of your choosing and decisions of your making, put yourself there but are generally not prepared to accept this as a rule.

This type of person will blame others and duck responsibility and invariably find fault in every thing but themselves. This is a sure-fire recipe for unhappiness and misfortune. Do you know anybody like this... perhaps intimately?

Don't sweat it, everybody saw it and accepted you anyway (or not), but what you may have noticed is the opportunity for advancement became less and less, friends maybe got a little more distant and unfortunate events seemed to be a more-often-than-not occurrence.

So what does this all mean? Well, it means the people who complain that their lives are getting worse and worse, really are experiencing their lives getting worse and worse.

Here's something else to keep in mind: What you think about, you bring about, and if you want your life to improve then by golly you need to improve. Take responsibility, stand in the breach of desire and take what is yours. Your life was never meant to be a struggle. Life is not a parking lot, it is a highway, now go drive!

Your Potential - Are You Settling For Mediocrity Or Are You Striving To Achieve Your Potential?

Your human potential is something that is worth fighting for every day.

While visiting the Colosseum in Rome, I was reminded of the gladiators who fought for their lives. You might be wondering how that fits here?

While the gladiators fought for their lives and the opportunity to live just a little big longer, you are not in that kind of situation; yet, are you fighting for your potential or accepting to follow the masses and stand in mediocrity?

If you are an individual suffering from success anorexia - here are three steps you can take to start reversing this limiting condition.

#1. Identify someone who can love and support you unconditionally.

While this may sound touchy feely to some of you, reality is we all need the unconditional support, and encouragement of someone like a coach, a teacher, or a mentor to become all that we can be.

#2. Become willing to succeed.

Few people realize that what we want is also what we fear. No matter how many "How to books of success..." you read, or seminars you attend, if you're subconsciously afraid of success, you will not be letting yourself succeed. You will find ways to self sabotage.

How do you overcome your fear of success?

"Eighty percent of success is showing up." Woody Allen

You know how some people, when they have a difficult decision to make, write down the pros and cons for the decision and proceed from there; well do the same here - sit down with your vision of success, and write down the pros and cons.

You might be wondering what are the drawbacks of success.

Perhaps you are subconsciously worried that you may have to face your fear of the unfamiliar.

Perhaps you will have to deal with the folks you currently hang around with, being jealous of you or no longer wanting to be with you.

What if people expect you to do and be more than you think you can?

Get the drawbacks and benefits to success down on paper. You can finally face, and start overcoming your subconscious/conscious fears.

#3. Establish Personal Time.

Set a time and place where the focus is You. This is vital. Too many people are overwhelmed by their To do list.

Setting time aside just for you, is the only way you can learn that the world won't end if you take time for yourself. This can one of the hardest steps for people to take, because of the guilt you may feel when you do something for You.

We are victims of circumstances which we created. I learned that by stopping myself from success- not only was I not helping others but that I was actually hurting those I love.

So today give yourself permission to succeed and develop your potential.

And as I my gift to you go to http://www.10stepstosuccess.com and download my Free E-book 10 Steps On The Journey to Success and Personal Development.

Make it a great day!

Your voice - Have You discovered Yours Yet?

Everyone has a voice that needs to be discovered. Have you discovered yours yet?

In my travels, I was once again reminded that we each have a voice and a unique message to deliver to the world. We each have a story that someone else is waiting to hear - that only we can say in our own unique way. Now your message may be delivered in a variety of ways - art, music, a song you sing, a book, an article, a blog, a speech, a sport you play, and so on.

I know some of you are thinking - I have no message. No one would want to hear or see what I have to express, or better yet my message is not that important. Wrong!

You have a greatness within you - don't let yourself be stopped by your limited thinking. However in order to become more, you need to see yourself as more. You need to understand and wrap your head around the fact that there is more in you than you can ever imagine.

Actually the great folks we hear about, who achieve in every field are not the exception, but rather they are the example. You have greatness in you - it may just be dormant at the moment.

You do not have to be great to start, but you need to start to be great.

The problem is not that we aim too high and miss - the problem is that we aim too low and hit. You actually owe it to the world to discover your voice, and share your message. How you will choose to express your voice is completely up to you.

Personally I have made the commitment to discover my voice at a deeper level - to be a messenger of hope, to help stop the negative thoughts others may have about themselves. My message is all about promoting the human potential. And I know that I am far from having reached my potential - but I am most certainly on my way!

Have you been suffering from possibility blindness?

The only thing that counts is what is happening within you. Stop making yourself a prisoner of your own thoughts and words.

What leadership, which talents and gifts will die with you if you do not discover and express your voice?

Greatness is within you. Greatness is a choice. Choose today who you will serve.

And now I would like to offer you free access to a daily reader - that can assist you in discovering your potential, when you subscribe to the Power Is In Your Hands.

You can get access now at http://www.thepowerisinyourhands.com.

I am here to introduce you to a part of yourself that you do not yet know, and help you get started on your path to discovering your voice.
